Mitchell, Albert A.

Albert A. Mitchell, 81, of Galeton, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the Soldiers & Sailors Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Born January 13, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Miklich) Mitchell. He was married to the former Erma Paul, who survives. Albert was a farmer and owned and operated Mitchell's Twin Valley Market in Gaines, PA which he opened in 1978. He was a member of St. Bibiana's Catholic Church, Galeton, the Galeton Knights of Columbus, and on the board of directors of God's Country Black Forest Snowmobile Club. Surviving in addition to his wife, are three sons, Byron and Myron Mitchell, both of Gaines, and Eric Mitchell, Coudersport; a grandson, Eric Mitchell, Jr.; two granddaughters, Emery and Kiara Perkins; a brother, Frank (Shirley) Mitchell, Galeton; a brother-in-law, Bravo Button, Gaines; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by a sister, Helen Button. Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Galeton, on Monday, December 30, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00PM and at St. Bibiana's Catholic Church, Galeton, on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, from 10:00 to 11:00AM. Following at 11:00AM, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty as Celebrant. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bibiana's Catholic Church, Galeton.
