Big Flats: Age 88, of Big Flats, NY went to be with her Lord peacefully Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Dorothy was born May 20, 1924 in Corning, NY a daughter of the late Omar and Susan Henyan McDonald. She was a graduate of Corning Northside Blodgett High School and was employed with Knickerbocker's Soda Bar for many years. She was a Charter member of the Big Flats American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a member of the Eastdale Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL. She is predeceased by her husband, William E. Griswold and granddaughter, Julie Berry. Dorothy is survived by her family; daughters, Janice Kozinsky Lynch, Sandra (Michael) Wood Berry, Dawn Wood Collins (loving partner Stanley "Petie" Reed), Darla (Bert) Wood Adams; son, Dr. Brett (Janet) Wood; grandchildren, Shawn Lynch, Jennifer Berry, Scott Bayley, Matthew Bayley, Mark Bayley, Laira Bigham, Andrew Boyd, Hannah Wood, Charlotte Wood, Robert (Kathleen) Adams, and Melissa Adams; six great grandchildren; brother, Lawrence McDonald and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 2PM-4PM with her Funeral Service to follow. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Hope Cemetery, Corning, NY at the convenience of the family.
