Chapman, Dorothy M.

Age 85, of North Street, Horseheads, NY, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014. She was born July 2, 1928 in the Town of Veteran to Reuben and Luella (Parlett) Chapman. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Allington of Pembroke Pines, FL; grandchildren, Melissa Turner, Anthony (Angelica) Turner, and Corey (Kim) Turner, all of El Paso, TX; great-grandchildren, Colin, Zane, Ian, Jayden, Eve, and Leon; and several nieces, nephews, host of friends, and cousins, including Wayne Beechum and Linda Cain. Dorothy was predeceased by her identical twin sister, Doris Baxter and siblings, Ransford, Clarence and Lawrence Chapman, Mildred Lockwood, Clara Lewis, and Mabel Chapman. Dorothy worked at Westinghouse Corp in the cathode department, Kennedy Valve, Elcor Health Center, Horseheads High School Cafeteria, Elmira Knitting Mill, and also did home heath work. She was an active 74 year member of the First Baptist Church in Horseheads. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, today, Wed., Jan. 29, 2013, from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. Her service will take place in the Horseheads First Baptist Church, 2293 Grand Central Avenue, Horseheads, NY on Thurs., Jan. 30, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. with burial service to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads.
