Francis E. Larrabee Sr.

LARRABEE, Francis E. Sr., "Tut"

Age 90, of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Francis was born on May 26, 1922 in Elmira, son of the late Ezra and Flotella Larrabee. Francis was also predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen (Hourihan) Larrabee; sisters, Betty Robson and Genevieve Gunderman; and brother, Willis Larrabee. Francis served our country in the US Army during WWII, receiving the decorations of European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 6 Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He retired from Hardinge Inc. and worked for Remington Rand for many years. Francis loved hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Francis is survived by his daughter, Theresa (Terry) Moffe of Elmira Heights; sons, Francis Jr. (Nancy) Larrabee and James (Anne) Larrabee, both of Elmira; grandchildren, Christopher (Karin) Larrabee, Michelle (Tim) Steed, Tricia (James) Bocchimuzzo, Scott Larrabee and Kimberly Moffe; great grandchildren, Logan and Kathryn Larrabee, Jacob, Claire, Emma and Cora Steed, and James Thomas Bocchimuzzo; sister, Evelyn Rupp of FL; brother, Kenny Larrabee of TX. Family and friends are invited to call Monday, November 26, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m., James D. Barrett Funeral Home. A remembrance service will follow at 7 p.m. Internment will take place on Tuesday, November 27th, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery with full Military Honors.
