Garry Raymond Belanger "Gar". Garry passed away January 15, 2013. He was born April 1, 1952 in Manchester, NH raised in the Watkins Glen/Montour Falls areas, he lived many places, including Phoenix, AZ, but mostly on the road. He graduated from Odessa-Montour, Odessa, NY in 1971. Gar passed away from complications of Hepatitis C, including liver disease. He leaves behind Belanger siblings: Roger (Kathy), Topeka, KS; Nancy, Horseheads, NY; Charles (Georgia), Van Etten, NY; Kenny (Randi), Chenango Forks, NY; Wayne, Plymouth, NH; Steve, Ithaca, NY; and Mary Belanger (Sona), Allenstown, NH; and an amazing number of nieces, nephews, friends, fans, and extended family! From the early beginnings of Gar's life he showed a deep interest in music, beginning with drums at the age of 9; as years passed becoming a 1st -string drummer with the world re-known Watkins Glen Squires Drum and Bugle Corps; continuing his interest in music he mastered drums, guitar, Bass, Keyboards and his wonderful Voice. He played with many local bands and eventually with his brothers formed their own band, "The Belanger Brothers". Gar is a professional recording artist, performer, songwriter, producer & singer! When people heard his voice, they paid attention. He toured with brothers Kenny & Wayne, as well as other artists, for 40 years, performing and backing many great artists of yesterday and today; always being active in the music business right to the end, Gar is what you would call a true dedicated Musician. Gar was a free-spirited soul and musician, who will always remain with everyone who had the pleasure to know him through his songs and spirit. He will be sorely missed among friends, fans, family and the music world! Gar always loved flowers, but more importantly, he loved to give a helping hand to food banks, homeless shelters and various Missing Children's foundations. Donations in Gar's name to the
