Bolivar, NY: Kolby Ryan Geffers, 17, of 2653 West Notch Rd., passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013, in the Town of Genesee as the result of an auto accident. He was born in Wellsboro, PA on December 19, 1995, the son of Troy Simmons and Kerensa Geffers. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was an Honor Student in the Senior Class at the Bolivar-Richburg Central School. Kolby enjoyed being with his family, hunting, cars, soccer, hiking, fishing, and riding ATVs. He was attending the BOCES Campus in Belmont and was excelling in the welding program and had received a scholarship from Ohio Tech to become a professional welder upon graduation from high school. Surviving are: father, Troy Simmons of Westfield, PA; mother, Kerrie Johnson of Bolivar; stepfather, Rhett Johnson of Bolivar; sisters, Brystal Tompkins and Te'a Johnson of Bolivar and Haylee Simmons of Westfield, PA; brother, Brant Johnson of Bolivar; paternal grandparents, Bob and Barbara Simmons of Westfield, PA; maternal grandmother, Kathi Nelson of Little Genesee, NY; step-grandparents, Jerry and Brenda Johnson of Newton, MO; also many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Joel Geffers. Friends may call today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Crosstown Alliance Church, 450 N. Highland Ave. in Wellsville. Rev. Jeremy Gorham officiating. Burial will be at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Community Bank, 113 N. Main St., Wellsville, NY 14895 in care of Bessie Jones. This will establish a scholarship in Kolby's name for a future welder.
