Marvin D. Wladis, age 91 of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Marvin was the proprietor of Marvin's Clothing Store in downtown Elmira. He was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army's 8th Air Force as part of the RAF in England that had missions throughout Europe. Those who knew and loved Marvin remember him as a caring, generous, and selfless man who was always there with a smile and a joke or story to tell. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosalyn, spouse of 65 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Louis Featherman, Donna and Mark Rothenberg all of Elmira; sons and daughter-in-law, Marc and Susan Wladis of Lakeville, MA, Ross Wladis of Naperville, IL; twelve grandchildren and spouses, Julie, Greg, Scott (Quynh), Amy (Jared), Graham, Arleigh, Brett, Evan, Adam, Samantha, Phoebe and Harrison. Sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Herb Zimiles of Ann Arbor, MI. Predeceased by his parents, Gus and Etta Wladis and sister, Phyllis Hannapel. Marvin was a long time member of Congregation Kol Ami. Funeral Services were held at Congregation Kol Ami 1008 W. Water St. Elmira on Friday, January 25, at 11 am Abraham Golos officiating. Interment followed at Franklin Street Cemetery, Elmira with U.S. Army military honors. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to Congregation Kol Ami, Care First, Bath VA. or Chemung County SPCA. Shiva and visitation will be observed at the family home on Saturday from 7-9 pm and on Sunday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. ARRANGEMENTS BY BAKER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME.
