DiGiacomo, Patricia A. "Patty"
Patricia A. "Patty" DiGiacomo, age 79 formerly of West William St., Corning, NY went home to be with her Lord and her husband, Frankie on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Bethany Manor of Horseheads, NY after years of failing health. Patty was born on May 29, 1934 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Aniello L. and Rose V. Ruocco. She was a graduate St. Vincent de Paul School and Northside-Blodgett High School Class of 1951. Patty married Frank J. DiGiacomo on April 21, 1956 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Corning, NY. He predeceased her on March 24, 1981. Patty was a dedicated homemaker for many years, later becoming a dental assistant for Dr. Louis Kunin and then the secretary to the Mayor for the City of Corning. Patty also worked as an election inspector and was a member on the Northside-Blodgett High School Class Reunion Committee. Patty's greatest passion was singing and music, lending her talent to the Seven Sharps, St. Vincent de Paul Choir and the Corning Philharmonic Chorus. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and friendly, radiant smile. Patty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by children: Brian (Tina) DiGiacomo of Arnold, MD, Sam (Kim) DiGiacomo of Horseheads, NY, David DiGiacomo of Galax, VA; grandchildren: Nicholas and Lauren DiGiacomo of Arnold, MD and Anthony and Alyssa DiGiacomo of Horseheads, NY; brother, Sylvester Ruocco of Vienna, WV; close nephew, Joe Andolino and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Patty was predeceased by sister, Mary (Ruocco) Andolino, Corning, NY; and brothers: Mark Ruocco, Charlotte, NC and Tony Ruocco, Danville, VA. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 9:30AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Corning, NY. Interment will immediately follow in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning, NY.
