Elston, Sheryl A. "Sher"

Age 56, of Lowman, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 11, 2013. She was born Nov. 20, 1956 in Groton, CT. Sheryl is survived by her husband, Charles Elston of Lowman; son, Shane (Debbie) Gerould of Lowman; mother, Irma Horton, also of Lowman; stepdaughters, Stephanie (Joel) Moore of Watkins Glen, Lisa (Eric) Lawrenz of Lowman, NY; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends, including longtime friends, Robin VanAtta and Jackie Thompson. Sheryl was also predeceased by her father, Harvey "Bud" Horton; brother, Fredric Horton; and stepson, Craig Allen Elston. Sheryl was employed at the Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls where she had worked for over 12 years in the food service department. She also was the co-owner of the Village Coffee Shop in Wellsburg, NY. She was an avid volleyball player and graduate of Waverly High School Class of 1975. Above all, she was a devoted caring wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. She loved the pool, spending time with grandkids, family and friends, traveling and the beach.
