TINKER, Winston C.
Longtime resident of Horseheads, passed away on December 7, 2012 at the age of 83. Winston was born, May 19, 1929 a son of the late Fred and Hazel Abel Tinker. He served his country honorably with the US Navy
and was employed at Ward LaFrance, American LaFrance and LaFrance Equipment. Winston enjoyed playing guitar, walking amongst his neighborhood and gardening. He is pre-deceased by his loving wife, Emma Landmesser Tinker after 40 years of marriage and by his brother Elmo. Winston is survived by his sons and daughters, Tim (Rita Donato-Edwards) Edwards of Dunellen, NJ, Chris (Annette) Burgess, of Matoaca, VA, Tina (Scott) Hager of Horseheads, NY, Gina (Dan) Tinker-Williams also of Horseheads, NY, Kelly (Marcus) Tinker-Gregory of Mineral, VA; grandchildren, Brian Burgess, Eric and Nicole Burgess, Ben Hager, Deric Williams, Asher Williams; great grandchildren, Alexander and Makyla Burgess; several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws and nieces, nephews and cousins. He maintained a special relationship with his sister-in-law, Joanne Tinker and nieces and nephews, Marcia & Patrick Arndt and Jayne & Paul Spadafora who affectionally referred to him as "Uncle Winnie". The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 6PM-8PM and again at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 10AM-11AM with Funeral Service to follow at 11AM. Winston will be laid to rest along side his wife, Emma immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors.
