QUAIL, Barbara J.

A long time resident of Southport passed on peacefully, Thur., Oct. 25, 2012 in NC where she had been residing.

Born on Nov. 15, 1946 in Elmira, Barb was the daughter of the late, Vincent & Sophie Zubriski Dooley. She married the love of her life, Fred Quail on June 21, 1974. Barb was employed in various jobs during her employment career. She worked as a bank teller for Marine Midland Bank; worked in the Banking & Accounting Department for Aetna Life & Casualty; and retired from Coseo Insurance Agency where she worked as the Office Manager.

Her interests included spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, quilting, and sewing. Barb is remembered for her quick wit, warm smile, and infectious laugh.

Surviving is her loving family, children, Terrie Adams, Omaha, NE; Kathy (Ronald) Shephard, Indian Trail, NC; step-children William J. (Kathy Osborne) Quail, Lily, KY; Sheri Trombetta, Odessa, NY; eleven grandchildren, Brandon, Lynsey, Jenna, Carly, Logan, Allison, Regan Shephard; Colin and Alex Quail; Patrick and Mathew Trombetta; sister, Kathleen Wertis, Indian Trail, NC; aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. A special thank you is owed to cousins Jeanne Potter and Judy Johnson who were very instrumental in Barb's care during her last months. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband Fred Quail, and sister Beverly Dooley McDaniel.

Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Fri. Nov. 2, 2012 between the hours of 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will take place there Sat. morning, 10 a.m. with long time family friend, Reverend Donald Rockwell officiating. Graveside services will follow in Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg. Memorial donations may be directed to your local Hospice in Barb's memory.
