David Wilkins Obituary
Elmira: David J. Wilkins, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 13, 2012. He was born in the Town of Urbana on May 26, 1963 the son of F. Richard Wilkins and Marie P. Wilkins. He received a Bachelor's degree from Hobart College in 1985. He worked at Ithaca College as a Director of Ithaca Fund, the college's annual giving program. Prior to working at Ithaca College, David worked at Elmira College and had a distinguished career in National Sales and Marketing. He entered the sales field with Proctor and Gamble in 1985 and went on to hold senior positions at Polaroid and Sunbeam. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was an avid reader and writer, and engaged an active hobby as a screenwriter. He was predeceased by his father, F. Richard Wilkins on July 8, 1988. He is survived by his loving wife, Amy Wilkins of Elmira, NY; mother, Marie P. Wilkins of Penn Yan, NY; his sons and daughters, Daniel and Susanna Wilkins of California and Ryan, Nick and Holly Goetz of Elmira, NY; two brothers, Richard (Susan) Wilkins of Pittsford, NY and Christopher (Jill) Wilkins of Pittsford, NY; and a sister, Susan (Kevin) Denny of Buffalo, NY; along with many nieces, nephews and a grandchild. Calling hours are being observed on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Penn Yan, NY, with his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Father Stan Kacprzak, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org). Arrangements are being handled by the Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath, NY.

I am so saddened by Dave's passing. I worked with him closely at Ithaca College and got to know him quite well in the past several months. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. His was a life taken far too soon.
