Gloria Eisinger Obituary

Gloria Cassetti Age 74, of Elmira, NY. died on Thursday evening, July 19, 2001 after a long illness. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, corner of Main and Church Streets in Elmira on Monday, July 23, 2001 at 11am. Rev. William Lutz officiating. A private interment will be in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery, Elmira, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorials in Gloria's name to Smith College, 33 Elm Street, Northampton, MA. 01063, or Planned Parenthood of the Southern Tier, 301 S. Main St. Horseheads, NY. 14845. Gloria is survived by her husband Dr. George Eisinger of Elmira; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Leigh Pisaneschi and Virginia Bennett of Boise, Idaho; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Eisinger Lande and N. Tore Lande of Stavanger, Norway; Ingrid and Jeffrey Husisian, Esq. of Apalachin, NY.; daughter-in-law Colleen Pisaneschi of Siena, Italy; grandchildren Madeleine Pisaneschi, Cecilie and Nicolas Lande, and Jason Husisian; brothers Ronald Cassetti of Charlotte, NC; Marlowe Cassetti of Penrose, Colorado and their families, numerous aunts, uncles and more than 40 first cousins. Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Angelo and Mrs. Frances Stio Cassetti and her beloved son, John Dean (Dino) Pisaneschi. Gloria was born on December 8, 1926 in Rochester, NY. She was raised in Elmira after living in several U.S. states, as well as Italy, Cuba and Mexico, returned to Elmira in 1961 where she lived for the rest of her life. She received a B.A. in Foreign Languages from Smith College in 1949 and a M.Ed. from Elmira College in 1965. Gloria taught English and foreign languages in the Elmira school system for many years. She ran a writer's group affiliated with Elmira College for over 25 years, and taught yoga at the YWCA for nearly 30 years. She volunteered at Trinity Episcopal Church's Thrift Shop. She was an avid writer and amongst her writings was a play produced by a local theater group which was broadcast on local educational television. Arrangements by HOLLY-KECK & BAKER, INC.
