Benedict, John Truman

John Truman Benedict, age 74, of Wellsboro, PA and Shinglehouse, PA, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro, PA. John was born November 21, 1938 in Elmira, NY, a son of Byron and M. Eloise (Benson) Benedict. He retired from Osram Sylvania and was a school bus and coach driver for Benedict's Bus Service. John enjoyed four wheeling and was a member of a camping club. He served in the National Guard. John is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Cynthia Benedict of Whitneyville, PA; a sister, Nancy Benedict of Shinglehouse, PA; two nieces, Tammy (Kevin) Mengee of Wellsboro, PA, Maria (Daniel) Frank of Wellsboro, PA; a nephew, Tyler (Tammy Jo) Benedict of Wellsboro, PA; eight great nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Ed Bell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center, 1883 Shumway Hill Road, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
