Kathryn Hanrahan Obituary

Age 89 and formerly a longtime resident of Reynolds St. in Elmira's Southside passed away after a brief illness on Mon. Oct. 25, 2010. Kathryn was born in Antrium, PA, a daughter to the late Richard and Constance (Crooks) Frisk. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Hanrahan in 1982 and is survived by her daughters and son, Judy (James) VanNordstrand of Newark Valley, NY, Mary Kay (Dan) Archambeault of Horseheads, NY and Joseph (Bonnie) Hanrahan, also of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Jamie (Tim) Brown, Jason VanNordstrand, Rejean and Collin Archambeault, Kristin (Damien) Cleveland, Sean (Angie) Hanrahan, Michaelene Maximiek and Chris Martin; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Justin, Damien, Annabella, Gianna, Luke, Quinn and Alex; former daughter-in-law, Catherine Hanrahan; sisters and brothers, Gladys Hourihan, Shirley (Richard) Knox, John (Irene) Frisk, Richard Frisk; and sister-in-law, Shirley Frisk. Kathryn was also predeceased by her sisters, Marie Walters, Connie Malone; and brother, William Frisk. She was a longtime employee of The Remington Rand in Elmira and more recently she was retired from South Side High School in Elmira where she worked in the Cafeteria. In her earlier years she enjoyed softball and bowling. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral home, 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Sat. Oct. 30, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Her service will be celebrated there at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours at 1:00 p.m. Burial service at the convenience of her family at a later date in Sts. Peter & Paul's Cemetery in Elmira. Special Thanks to the healthcare workers of Elcor's Rehab and Nursing Facility, St. Joseph's Hospital and Rob Kimball for the compassion and care they provided our mother. Thank you most sincerely. Mary-
I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. She was a special person and always made me laugh when I was at your house. I've thought of her often through the years and still laugh at the things she'd say to us. I'm sure she's in heaven now making everyone laugh as she tells them the stories of things we've done!
