Morrell, Margaret Ellen Easton

Born October 15, 1927

Margaret passed away comfortably in her sleep on May 14th in Ormond Beach, FL with her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Donald Fredrick Morrell, by her side along with her daughter, Schatzie (Donna) Rabits and son, Christopher. Margaret is predeceased by her son, Gregory Morrell; sister, Beatrice Brown; brothers, Stuart Easton, Robert Easton and Max Easton. Margaret is survived by her husband, Donald; children, James (Denise) Morrell, Schatzie Rabits, David (Anne) Morrell, Joel (Margaret) Morrell and Christopher Morrell; grandchildren, Lindsey (Pat) Hewell, Jamie Morrell, Brandon (Carly) Morrell, AJ Starkweather, Katie Rabits, Bryan Morrell, Sarah Morrell, Stephen Morrell, Michael Morrell, Elizabeth Morrell, Geneva Morrell; and several great-grandchildren. Born to Charles and Florence Mahar Easton of Elmira, NY, Margaret was a summa cum laude graduate of Syracuse University's School of Nursing and worked for the Chemung County Health Department for many years as a visiting nurse before retiring in 1972. She was a fierce patient advocate and frequently spoke of moments where she was able to make significant improvements in the lives of her patients. Margaret spent the majority of her life in Elmira, NY raising her family and supporting her husband in the family business, Gentlemen's Quarter. Margaret is known for her delicious meals that made Sunday dinners and holidays so special, and being a loving Grandma, or "Mimi" as most of her grandchildren called her. Moving to Ormond Beach, FL permanently in 2003, she and Donald were able to enjoy the warm sunshine and to be close to many of their children. With her big bright smile and the mandatory hug for everyone she met, making people happy and always being ready to help someone in need was what she did best. Margaret will be greatly missed by her friends and family. A private burial service will be held at the family's convenience.
