Age 91 of Elmira, born April 3, 1921 in Elmira to the late Nellie Mae & Zenus Carpenter, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Pre-deceased by husband, Otis of 54 years, in 1997; sisters, Anna Duffy, Margaret Woodard, Frances McConnell; brother, Norman Carpenter. Survived by daughters, Patricia (William) Davis, Elmira, Sharon (Dennis) Godwin, Elmira, Candace (Lee Abernathy) Quattrini, Elmira, Judy (Thomas) Kiemeyer, Indianapolis, IN; son, Randy (Cindy) French, Elmira; grandchildren, Dina (David) Watts, Danelle (Lindsay) Hakes, Richard Knapp, Jacqueline Godwin, Michael Godwin, Peter (McKenna) Godwin, Laureen Quattrini, Robert Quattrini Jr., Kyle Seeley, Heather (Todd) Blish, Cory (Karen) French; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews. Marian devoted her life to being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She made family and home her top priorities. Marian was very artistic and loved spending time with her husband creating lovely things to share with her friends and family. She died peacefully at CCNF where she received several years of loving care. The family thanks all her caregivers. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kalec Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 20th from 4 to 7 p.m. Her Funeral Service there Wednesday, November 21st at 10 a.m. Rev. Mike Weeden, of New Beginnings United Methodist Church, Officiating. Burial to follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
