Charron, Robert L., Sr.

Age 81, of Elmira, NY, went to be with his Lord on June 4, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Robert was born on July 8, 1931 in Elmira, son of the late Leo and Beatrice (Shannon) Charron. Robert served our country in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne in the Korean War. He retired from Kennedy Value after many years of service. Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn "Jean"; daughters, Laurie (Ronald) Stermer of Elmira and Brenda (former son-in-law, Patrick) Ribble of Elmira; son, Robert Jr. of Elmira; grandchildren, Andrea, Angela, William Jr., Matthew, Heather and Ron "J.R."; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Alan (Molly) Charron of Liverpool, NY; sisters, Eleanor Snyder of Elmira, Joan Ann Driver of FL and Jeanne (Kenneth) Richardson of CA; former son-in-law, William Faucett Sr.; many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia O'Dell, Irene Castillo and Mary Charron; brother, Cornelius Charron. Family and friends are invited to call Sunday, June 9, 2013, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Father John Desocio officiating. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family with full Military Honors.
