Wellsboro, PA: Stella English, 85, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on May 15, 2013 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Glenn W. "Bill" English who predeceased her in 2008. Stella was born July 14, 1927 in Wellsboro, the daughter of the late Henry L. and Faye Goodwin Compton. She attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Holliday. Stella was a member of Mary Wells Chapter #452 O.E.S. Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Amy English, Wellsboro, Joseph and Chris English, Big Flats, NY, Richard English and Peony Crowley, Wellsboro, William and Tracey English, Wellsboro, and Robert and Nancy English, Wellsboro; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Terry Jones, Wellsboro; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Ted Compton, Wellsboro; sister-in-law, Helga Pettitt, Big Flats, NY; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Marge Spencer; and sisters-in-law, Alice Compton and Vida Compton; brothers, Cecil Compton and Phil Pettitt; grandson, Ryan English and his wife Karen. Friends and family are invited to Stella's Life Celebration on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 7-9 p.m. at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home", 139 Main St., Wellsboro, PA 16901. Funeral Saturday, May 18, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Erik J. Ferguson officiating. Burial at Cherry Flats Baptist Cemetery.
