Audrey Shepard, 101, formerly of Gaines, PA and Westfield, PA, passed away Monday afternoon at The Green Home, in Wellsboro, PA. Audrey was born July 28, 1912 in Gaines, PA, to Walter and Lucy Gill Dewey. She graduated from Troy High School and later from a beauty school in Elmira, NY. She worked as a barber for several years; owned and operated Golden Glow Heights in West Elmira, NY. Audrey was a positive person who saw the best in others and was known for her quick wit. She had many interests and activities as she always enjoyed life. She was an avid outdoorswoman and loved to travel. She and her husband traveled the country and spent their winters in Arizona. Her love of billiards led her to win the gold medal twice at the Arizona state senior Olympics for Women's Pool. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westfield. She was predeceased by her husband of 60+ years, Roland Shepard, and their son, Richard (Ricky); two sisters, Gertrude and Faye VanNoy and two brothers, Donald and Rex Dewey. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Aunt Audrey was loved by her many nieces and nephews and will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held on April 12, at 1:00 PM at the Westfield Baptist Church, 122 Church St., Westfield, PA 16950. Arrangements are in care of Kenyon Funeral Home.
