Palmer, Richard "Dick"

Age 76 of Horseheads passed away unexpected, Tues. Apr. 8, 2014 at home. Born on Jan. 15, 1938 in Elmira; son of the late, William F. & Reva Morse Palmer. Dick served in the US Army from 1961-1963. He was employed for 36 years at Hillard Corp. An outdoorsman, Dicks many interests included, camping, fishing, canoeing and hunting. He was a former scout master and a member of Sullivan Trail Gun Club. Surviving are his loving children, Eric Palmer, Christopher (Tammy Ribble) Palmer, Joyelle (Brandon) Palmer Briggs; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Heather, Brynne, Justin, Alexis, Trae, and DeAnte; mother of his children, Joy (Walt) Myers. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport/Elmira on Wed. Apr. 16, 2014 between 12 (noon) - 1 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. with interment in Woodlawn National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded Mr. Palmer.
