Cooper, Ronald E.
Age 69, of Monkey Run Rd., Gillett, PA, passed away on April 29, 2014 at the Bradford County Manor. Ron was born December 26, 1944 in Elmira, NY son of the late Lester and Arretta (Everson) Cooper. He was a graduate of S.R.U. high school. Ron was retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and was also a dairy farmer. He was a member of the Postal Carriers Union and served as League Secretary for the Troy Bowling Association for many years. Ron was awarded the Resident Volunteer Award at the Bradford County Manor for his assistance to fellow residence just moving into the manor. Survivors include a sister, Barbara (Frank) Matkosky of Painted Post, NY; a brother, Norman (Ginger) Cooper of Gillett, PA; stepchildren, Kevin Patterson, Karen Clark, Karla Davenport, Krista Abshure; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents and his wives, Patricia and Doris. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main St., Wellsburg, NY. His funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Bentley Creek Cemetery.
