Wetherbee, Gordon Ernest

Age 83, of Pine City passed away Tuesday May 6, 2014 at Elcor Health Services following declining health. Born on April 21, 1931 in Elmira son of the late, Earl & Edna Menold Wetherbee. He married Nancy Appleton in 1952. Gordon was employed for over 25 years by F.M. Howell & Co. and was a proud member of the "25 Year Club". In his retirement he worked as a Crossing Guard at Broadway School for many years. Gordon always had a quick sense of humor and was a devoted family man. Surviving is his loving family, wife and companion, Nancy Appleton Wetherbee, Pine City; children, Linda Walton, Elmira; Lori Reed, Horseheads; and Kevin (Robin) Wetherbee, Hartsville, SC; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Emily, Ryan, Elizabeth, Cody, and Jesse; two great granddaughters, Rowan and Aubrey; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Jack) Fiester, Horseheads and Jane (Bill) Allington, Hector; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his in-laws, Harold & Arlene Quick Appleton; brothers, Owen, Manford, and Eugene Wetherbee; and a grandson, Jared Walton. All services will take place privately at the family's convenience.
