Knoxville, PA: Gale C. Stermer, Sr., age 67 of Knoxville, PA passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Born June 21, 1946 in Elmira, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley and Alice (Schofield) Stermer. Gale retired from the Dresser Rand in 2010 after 38 years of service. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and riding motorcycle. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother; an all-around great family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Sherry; his daughters, Rhonda and Dave Clark of Corning, NY, Tammy (Pat Chapman) Stermer of Horseheads, NY, Pamela and Tracy Sackett of Osceola, PA and Annette and Steven Swiderski of Beaver Creek, OH; his sons, Gale Jr. and K.C. Stermer of Horseheads, NY, Jamie and Jennifer Stermer of Buffalo, NY and Clifford and Melissa Stermer of Knoxville, PA; his siblings, Richard and Carolyn Mortimer of Zephyrhills, FL, Marlene Mortimer of Zephyrhills, FL, Sandra Ogden of Lawrenceville, PA and Dale and Traci Stermer of Knoxville, PA; step children, Travis and Samantha Moore of Westfield, PA, Trent Moore of Palmyra, PA and Amanda Moore of Knoxville, PA; 22 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a niece, Dorinda Ogden and two brothers in law, Roger Mortimer and Wilbur Ogden. Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Sunday, June 1st from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 3:00 PM with Pastor Scott Wolf officiating.
