Ayers, Kathy Ann

Corning: Kathy Ann Ayers, age 59, of Corning, NY, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira following a lengthy illness. Kathy was born December, 22nd, 1954 in Elmira, daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Gartner) Linsner. She married Bruce M. Ayers May 30th, 1987 in Corning, he survives her. Kathy graduated from Horseheads High School, class of 1973, and later from Corning Community College. She received her Bachelors' Degree in graphic design from Syracuse Business Institute and she operated Fanfare in Corning for many years. Kathy was an assistant teacher at Severn Elementary in Corning and had been a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, Troop 1096, and she was a member of St. Mary's Church in Corning. Kathy enjoyed gardening, rock collecting and bird watching. A keyboard player, Kathy liked to jam with her classmates. She was devoted to organizing her class reunions and took great pride in it. Her great enjoyment was spending time with her family, friends and her dog Misty. Kathy's smile and laugh would light up any room. She is survived by her husband: Bruce M. Ayers, two daughters: Jessica (Bradley) Pryslopski of Painted Post, NY, and Jennifer Ayers of Corning, NY and one son: Jordan Ayers of Corning, NY, one brother: Arthur (Carolyn) Linsner of Chicago, IL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received Monday June 30th from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm at Carpenters' Funeral Home, LLC, 14 East Pulteney St. Corning. A Mass for Kathy will be Tuesday July 1st at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church 155 State St. Corning. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
