Janet Longenberger Obituary
Janet A.
Of Elmira, New York, and most recently of Hobe Sound, Florida, died September 18, 2008, at the age of 87. Signing her name with a J hand shape rolled over the heart, she was well-known in the deaf community in Elmira and Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Working throughout her adult life as a domestic, as an assembler for Capabilities, Inc., and later for Winchester Optical, she was a proud mother and a hard worker. She is the cherished mother of Catherine, Harry, Mary and Richard Longenberger, and grandmother of Rick, Donna, Terry, Paul, Robert and Lester. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL, 34997. Treasure Coast Hospices were invaluable to the family in the last months of Janet's life. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 22, followed by Funeral and Committal Services there Monday at 8:00 p.m. A "Candle of Remembrance" may be left for the family in Obituaries at www.olthof.com.

I went to Mrs. Longenberger's viewing last night. I missed her when she moved away. She was always so very nice to me and my brother and sisters. She is going to be buried near my mom so I can visit her whenever I want.
It was so nice to see Mary, Cathy and Jr. (we always called him that). They all look so great! And--it was nice to meet their spouses.

I have missed your mom. I would many times see her in the grocery store (a long time ago, I must add) and we would talk for long periods of time. She was always very nice to me and I really appreciated it. I haven't seen you kids probably since we were little. Hopefully I will make it to your mom's viewing tonight. Best wishes, Candy
