EMMICK John B.

Age 76 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away on Thursday June 16, 2011. Jack was born in Elmira, NY on January 19, 1935 the son of the late Charles H. and Hilda Johnson Emmick. He married his wife Margaret E. Wood Emmick on December 26, 1985 and they were married for 25 years until she pre-deceased him on April 29, 2011. Mr. Emmick was a Jazz musician and a true Renaissance man with many interests and talents including art, gardening, painting, astronomy, bird watching, and a passion for American History. He retired from the Westinghouse Corp as a Plater and owned Jack Emmick Painting. Between Jack and Margaret they are survived by their 10 loving children: Julie & Brian Pfab of Rushville, NY, Jack & Dawn Emmick of Savannah, GA, and James & Amy Emmick of Athens, TN; Michael & Elaine Brink of Orchard Park, NY, Kathy & Michael Warren of Bath, NY, Thomas Brink of Elmira, NY, Mary & Michael Brink Campbell of Horseheads, NY, Susan & Craig Weed of Horseheads, NY, Elizabeth Owen and Susan Traverse of Wurtsboro, NY, and Richard & Giuliana Brink of Chester, VA; grandchildren: Jerry Dixon, Kathryn, Madelyn, Zane, Zoey, Ella, Jack, and Elizabeth Emmick; Zachary, Nicholas, and Jennifer; Andrew and Caitlyn; Cameron, Carmella, and Anna Maria Brink; Allison and Andres Warren; Martina Brink and Clara Campbell; Joanna and Caitlin Cecce, Nathan and Gavin Weed; Jacob and Joseph Owen; sisters and brothers-in-law: Joyce and Edward MacNamara of Potsdam, NY; Margaret Emmick, Barbara Peterson of Elmira, NY; Harold & Mary Wood of Elmira, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Jack followed Margaret closely through life and she paved the way for him now in death. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jack's Funeral Services at the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Monday June 20, 2011 at 11 AM with the Deacon George Welch officiating. Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Emmick. Jack will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY. In Lieu of flowers and those wishing may remember Mr. Emmick through memorials to Southern Tier Hospice 11751 East Corning Road Corning, NY 14830.
