Bronson, Daniel W.

Daniel W. Bronson, age 88, of Painted Post, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in Corning Hospital, Corning, NY. Daniel was born on July 27, 1924 in Lindley, NY to the late Lavern and Mazie (Edger) Bronson. Daniel married Ellen Titus on November 23, 1946 in Lindley. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Daniel was a devoted husband, loved his family, and cherished the many friends he made during his lifetime. He proudly served his country during World War II as Corporal in the Army. He was a Supervisor in the Service Department at Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post for 33 years. He truly enjoyed his job and the friends he worked with. Mr. Bronson was a member of VFW Post #524 in Corning and The United Methodist Church of Painted Post. Daniel will be dearly missed by his wife, Ellen Bronson; three daughters, Linda Christly, Shirley (David) Brown both of Corning, NY, and Louise (Stephen) Donohue of Lexington, NC; one son, Dennis (Deborah) Bronson of Lexington, NC; brother, George Bronson of Tioga, PA; grandchildren, Matthew (Kathryn) Christly, Brian (Laura) Christly, Todd (Jessica) Brown, Jason (Jennifer) Brown, Stephanie (Drew) Walters, Samantha Bronson, Patrick Jones, and Marcus Jones; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by his sister, Doris Warner; brothers, Clayton, William, and Linwood Bronson; stepsister, Frances Edger Fundurulic; stepbrothers, Charles, Carlton, and Howard Edger. Family and Friends may call Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10:00AM at the funeral home with the Reverend Sandra Olmstead officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats.
