Clark, Elizabeth Marie

A woman with a fierce love of family, a sly sense of humor and a genius for friendship, died December 23, 2012 at the age of 56. Beth was born in Elmira, NY on September 10, 1956. She graduated from Horseheads High School in 1974, LeMoyne College in 1978 and had a Master's degrees in theology from Boston College and a Master's degree in education from Wheelock College. We all knew our sister Lizzie was the smartest of the bunch even though she was the shortest. Beth is survived by her mother, Patricia Redmond Clark; siblings and their spouses, Mary Anne & Robert Bly, Margaret Williams, William Clark & fiancée, OlgaMarie VanOsdol, Kathy & Jeré Wigsten, Daniel Clark and Amy & Ed Bond; nieces and nephews, Joshua & Lucas Allen, Kelly Harrison, Tim Bly, Erin, Shannon & Christopher Williams, Melinda Cole, Matthew & Patricia D. Clark, Michael Clark, Evan, Brianna, Alexis & Serena VanOsdol, Sarah & Bradley Wigsten, Jack & Liam Bond; great-nephew, Christian Williams and great-niece, Makenna Deiley; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Howard Clark; brother, Gerald Clark; and brother-in-law, Dale Allen. Beth is also survived by a wonderful group of friends including Liz Webster and her LeMoyne College, "Sisters of the Heart": Beth Scanlon, Lauri Bousquet, Diane Daboer, Michelle Porthouse, Cris Metcalf, Rosemary Reed, Mary Kay Polly, Debbie Spratt & Doris Hart-Steffes. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1009 Maple Ave., Elmira, with Father Jim Callan officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
