Mrs. Terri (Cocco) Pannone passed away early Friday morning, May 3, 2013, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family in Waverly, NY, after battling cancer courageously for 10 years. Born October 11, 1954 in Lyons, NY, she was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Betty (Boenheimer) Cocco. She is survived by her close and supportive family: loving husband of 31 years, David; sons (USAF Capt.) Alexander and (US Army Major) Adam; stepson, Zachary (and wife, Manpreet); stepdaughter, Nicole (and James) Bryson; brother, Michael (and Laurie) Cocco; sisters, Diane Tymoski, Lori (and Brien) Grow, Lisa (and David) Robbins; godchildren, Jake Robbins and Linsey Solomon; nieces, Ashley, Jenna, Jackie, Jennifer, Jessica, Kathryn and Kristina; nephews, (USN Lt.) Nicholas (and Jennifer) Grow, Lukas, Caleb, and Noah Robbins; cousins, Bill and Cathy Soprano, Mary and Kevin Gosney; Aunt Jean Cocco, and Uncle Eddy (and Liz) Cocco. Mrs. Pannone attended Waverly schools as a child then SUNY Delhi and SUNY Cortland. She studied French in Neuchatel, Switzerland. She received a second Master's degree from Elmira College. She taught French in Webster, NY and Elmira Heights, NY. She taught French and Spanish for twenty-five years at the Waverly Middle School where she was respected and admired by both students and staff. She was a communicant at St James Catholic Church/Blessed Trinity, Waverly, NY. Terri was an enthusiastic fan of her children's sports and activities, a Yankees fan, an avid reader, and a member of the Waverly Ladies Book Club and "The Birthday Club." She loved beach vacations with her family, traveling abroad and cross country and the numerous outings, tail gate parties and trips with her life long friends from childhood. After her family and friends, teaching was her greatest joy. In lieu of flowers, friends may send a donation to the family address at 51 Pine Street, Waverly, NY, to create a scholarship award in Terri's name at the high school. Friends will be received at Alteri-Bowen Funeral home in Sayre, PA, on Sunday May 5 from 3 to 6PM to relate fond memories and to pay final respects to the family.
