Stanton, Monroe H. "Monk"

DeBary, FL and Elmira, NY age 81 went to be with his Lord on October 25, 2013 after a short illness. Monk was born September 19, 1932 the son of the late Hazzard and Dorothy Andrus Stanton in Elmira, NY. He was predeceased by his son Alan and all of his 5 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Miriam "Mimi" Stanton; sons, Michael (Kathy) Stanton of Horse Heads, NY and Mark (Cheryl) Stanton of Elmira, NY; granddaughter, Sarah Stanton; step children, Kevin (Dawn) Walker of Elmira, NY, Rob (Chris) Walker of Buffalo, NY, Heather (Dickie) Bernas and Amber (Doug) Fredo all of Elmira, NY; sister in law, Rosie Stanton and her sons, Stephen, Brian, Keith and Kevin; his ex-wife, Barbara (Jake) Trimmer; several nieces and nephews. Monk served our country in the US Navy and was a retired Fireman for the Elmira Fire Department. Monk loved playing golf at Mark Twain G. C. in Elmira and Glen Abbey G. C. in DeBary. A memorial service will be held Friday November 8th, 1 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL 32763.
