CHEROCK, James N.

CORNING: Age 72, of Corning, NY, passed away on December 8, 2013. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Lynch Funeral Home, 318 Broad St. Horseheads, NY on Saturday, December 14, from 1- 4 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. A private burial will be held at Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elaine; daughters, Cheryl (Scott) Cobb and Michelle Cherock of Elmira; brothers, William (Irene) Cherock of Dumfries, VA, and Skip Cherock of Houston, TX; and niece, Jennifer Cherock (Ryan) of Charleston, SC. Jim was the proprietor of the Lake Road Unisex barber shop in Horseheads, where he enjoyed the company and friendship of his numerous customers for 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Corning. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1612 of Big Flats, and the BPOE Lodge 1546 of Watkins Glen.
