Castle, Ernest E.

Age 74, of Elmira, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2014, peacefully at home. Survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryl Ann (Alchimowicz); son, Ernest B. Castle; daughter, Brenda J. Bullock; stepson, Larry Miller; grandchildren, Justin, Christopher, Trevor, Lucas, Sarah, Shana; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois (Bob), Judy (Stu), Archie, Matthew (Lorraine), Margo (Leon), Tim (Tina); mother and father-in-law, Betty and Al Alchimowicz; sisters-in-law, Carol (Al) Schroth and Christy Alchimowicz; brother-in-law, Charles (Tammy) Alchimowicz; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Jack Gardner; canine companions, Sebastian and Shannie; predeceased by daughters, Melissa Ann, Robin Marie and Tammy. Ernest was retired from Emhart Glass and was a US Navy Veteran, Vietnam. He was an avid NY Rangers and NY Giants fan. Also he was a member of the American Legion Post Elmira. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kalec Funeral Home on Thursday, July 31, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held there at 1 p.m., Rev. Scott Kubinski officiating. Burial to follow in Sts. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
