Congdon, Alice G.
Age 89 of Millerton, PA, passed away Mon. Mar. 13, 2017 at Broad Acers Nursing Home following a battle with cancer. Born on Aug. 3, 1927 in Detroit, Mi. Alice was the daughter of the late, Homer & Anna Baumgartner Wheeler. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Donald Congdon, who predeceased her in 2013 after 67 years of marriage. A son, Gary, and 11 siblings also predeceased her. A homemaker, Alice enjoyed caring for her family. Outside of the home she was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital as an LPN. Surviving are her loving children, Faye Ann (Larry) Wilson, Elmira; Dennis (Diana) Congdon, Millerton, PA; Wendy (Larry) Bird, Millerton, PA; and Ruth Webster, Millerton, PA; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; brother Robert Wheeler; and a number of nieces and nephews. In honor of her wishes all services were privately held at her family's convenience and she was interred in Prospect Cemetery, Mansfield, PA.

I am very sorry for your loss. I remember vacation Bible school that Alice held at the family home. Even after we moved to the other side of the hill someone would come get me for VBS. I am sorry for your loss! Sincerely,

My condolences go out to the family of Alice .Congdon. I can still picture them in the Mansfield SDA Church which met over the home of my great grandparents, Clinton & Ada Soper. I specifically remember sitting in Don's Sabbath School class with Dennis & Wendy whenever I would be spending time with my grandparents, Mabel & Ward Austin. She will be missed, but not forgotten. God bless you all.
