EASTON - Patrick Owen Murphy, 16 years old, of Easton, Md., passed away suddenly on June 26, 2018, at Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, Md.
Patrick was born on July 30, 2001, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md. He was the son of Michael Murphy and Allison Murphy.
Patrick, or "Murph" to his friend, was an enthusiastic athlete, passionate sportsman and dedicated honor student. He loved team sports, playing baseball, basketball and soccer. He was an avid follower of the Baltimore Orioles and New England Patriots, as well as many other professional sports teams. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and everything the Eastern Shore has to offer a young sportsman.
Patrick will be remembered by his family and closest friends as the finest son, brother, cousin and friend anyone could ask for with his kind heart and soft voice defining his enduring character.
He is survived by his parents, Allison Murphy and Michael Murphy; his sisters, Amanda Wright, Caroline Murphy and Marguerite Murphy of Easton, Md. He is also survived by his grandparents, Emilie Murphy of Bowie, Md., Joseph Murphy of Little Plymouth, Va., and Mildred and John McDermott of Sunset Beach, N.C. He is also survived by uncles and aunts, including Jeffrey McDermott, Ellen and Michael Ambrosini, Craig Cardine and Patrick Murphy. He is also survived by cousins, Jenna, Michael and Christopher Ambrosini; Paul, Emilie and Ben Cardine; Cassidy, June and Jaden Murphy; and Katie Ottaviani. He was predeceased by his brother, Eric Matthew; and his aunt, Joanne Cardine.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 2, 11:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 1210 S. Washington St., Easton. Burial will be private.
The family wishes that any current or former teammate of Patrick's in any sport is encouraged to please wear your jersey.
