Alice Henry Obituary

Alice E. Henry Alice E. Henry, 88, wife of John R. Henry of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at her residence.

Alice is also survived by a daughter, Lisa Rhae Mercer of Locust Grove; a granddaughter, Ashley Mercer, and a sister-in-law, Marian Liddle of California.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorna Henry.

Alice and John were married in 1949. She worked in aircraft manufacturing during WWII in Longbeach, California. She later became one of the founding members of Lake of the Woods Church, Locust Grove, where she remained a member until her passing.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Lake of the Woods Church, Locust Grove, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:00 a.m.. A reception will follow at the church. Reverend Tom Schafer will officiate the service. Internment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper.
