ALLIANCE - Della Joan Hayward, 80, of Hyannis died peacefully at Highland Park Care Center in Alli-ance on October 4th, 2012 following complications from cancer.
Della was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Scottsbluff, the daughter of Leo and Elma (Croxen) Jansen
Della is survived by her husband Merle Hayward of Hyannis; son, Charles (Pam) Wakely of Palmdale, Calif.; daughters, Lori McDonald of Fort Collins, Colo., Stephanie Stumph of Chadron, Holly (Ron) Westemeier of Alliance; step-daughters Susan Hayward of Littleton, Colo, and Carol Chatfield of Belleville, Kan.; sisters Darlene (Pat) Ashcroft of Gunnison, Colo., Ermadean Haas of Mitchell, Ill. Fegler of Ogallala and Loretta/Midge (Carl) Curtis of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister's-in-law Kay (Jim) Soliday of Portland, Ore., and Carol Hayward of Fort Collins, Colo.. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Caitlin, Logan, Reece, Mason, Megan, Willa, Laura, Jonathan, Natalie, and 2 great-grandchildren: Mitch, Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews.
Della was preceded in death by her parents, sister Arlene Gore of Orange Calif., stepson Robert Hayward of Hyannis, and granddaughter Sheila.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 8 from 1-4 p.m. at Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Alliance. Requiem service will be held at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church on Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church in Hyannis on Oct. 9, at 10:30 a.m. Bishop James Krotz and Rev. Cheryl Harris will officiate. Burial will be at the Hyannis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Della's name and sent to Calvary Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 80, Hyannis, NE, 69350.
