Mary Jane Fahlbusch, 80, of Scottsbluff, was lifted to her rest by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Heritage Estates.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Living Stones Christian Church in Gering with Gene Hill officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff.
Friends who wish may call at the Jolliffe Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Mary's honor be made in care of Living Stones Christian Church. Mary was born July 24, 1932 to David and Mary (Stoll) Asmus in Scottsbluff. She was raised in the Lyman area where she met her husband Albert Fahlbusch. They were married July 2, 1949 and moved to the Gering and Scottsbluff areas where they raised three children. After completing cosmetology school, Mary purchased the Candy Stripe Beauty Salon in 1972, which she operated until 2005. She was a wonderful hairdresser and imparted her talents to two granddaughters.
She was an accomplished German cook and was privileged to participate in two World's Fairs, where she demonstrated making grebel. Mary also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed family gatherings and especially when she could play with the babies.
Survivors include her daughters, Sheila (George) Jensen, Tina (Philip) Castro, son, Roger (Shelly) Fahlbusch all of Scottsbluff; a sister; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, seven brothers, and two sisters preceded Mary in death.
