TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Walter Thomas Walsh, 74, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home in Torrington with his loving family by his side.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Father Ray Moss officiating. Cremation has taken place.

Walter was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Scottsbluff, the son of Joseph Thomas and Viola Gladys (Feckly) Walsh. He grew up on the family farm on Sheep Creek. He was born the second of seven children. Walter attended school at Chalk Butte School and then Torrington High School. After high school, he served in the Army National Guard for two years. In 1960, he married Gayle Hazelwood and the couple moved to California. The family ended up in Torrington where Walter worked construction. Walter and Gayle had four children together. In 1969, they moved to the family ranch North of Fort Laramie. Walter ranched and worked a custom hay business with his son Rodney until 2013. He worked at Holly Sugar during campaign for many years. His wife, Gayle, died in 1988. Walter married Pamela Lawson May 11, 2001. They resided in Torrington. Walter helped raise three step-daughters.
Walter was proud of all of the hay he had stacked in his life. He loved cars and was very meticulous about keeping them clean. He enjoyed attending auctions, collecting coins and shot glasses. He loved spending time with his family. Walter always had a smile, loved life and just being around people. He will be deeply missed by his entire family.
He was a member of the Moose and the Elks.
Survivors include his wife Pamela of Torrington; sons, Donovan Walsh of Kearney, Rodney Walsh of Morrill; daughters, Karen Walsh of Torrington, Justina French of Ft. Collins, Colo.; step-daughters, Jennifer Goetz of Glenrock, Angela Reece of Rock Springs and Sheena Wise of Torrington; brothers, Joseph Duane Walsh of Scottsbluff, Lester Walsh of Torrington, and Neal Walsh of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sister, Betty Helsel of Cheyenne; brother, Dale Walsh of Scottsbluff; 14 grandchildren; and 17 very special nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Gayle (Hazelwood) Walsh; infant sons, Kelly and Jason; brother, Bob; and nephew, Lonnie.
