TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Harold J. Ring, 83, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his home in Torrington.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at St. James Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, with Reverend Ralph C. Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Cremation has taken place.

Harold was born June 16, 1929 in Lyman, the son of Jacob and Eva (Weimaster) Ring. He grew up in the Lyman area and attended school at Lyman and then graduated from Huntley High School in 1947. He farmed in the Huntley-Lyman area until he entered the U.S. Army. He was discharged from the Army 1953.
Harold married Elsie Welsch May 23, 1954 in Scottsbluff. He then farmed south of Huntley until he retired in 2002 and moved to Torrington.
Harold served on the Huntley School Board as well as the Holly Sugar Beet Growers Board for several years. He was an avid bowler and he liked to hunt and fish.
Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda (Gary) Kern of Torrington; daughter, Deanne Ring of Ogallala; brother, Larry J. (Mary Ann) Ring of Alliance; sister, Eleanor Kimrey of Aurora, Colo.; and grand-children, Stacey Kern and her fiancé Clayton Scholl of Laramie, Wyo. and Kylee (Alex) Willoughby of Timnath, Colo.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife Elsie.
