Kenneth Wineman, 91, of rural Gering, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at his home.

His Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with Dennis Gingrich officiating.
A memorial has been established to Gering Rural Fire Dept. or Farm and Ranch Museum. Gering Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth was born Dec. 14, 1919, at Gering to Grover and Blanche (Sloan) Wineman and received his early education at the Hillview Dist. #49. He was united in marriage to Ruth C. Knaub on Jan. 12, 1940, at Harrisburg and they made their home on a farm south of Gering, where he enjoyed farming until his death.
He was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Kenneth will be missed by his daughters, Sally and Harrison Warren, Dottie and Milo Sandberg and Donna Sommer; son, Bill and Lou Ann Wineman; grandchildren, Leslie Sunnock, Melissa Sommer, Kenny Wineman, Sarah Franzen, Todd Warren and Alisa Mader; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Kenneth in death was his infant son, Gerry; parents; a brother; three sisters; wife Ruth; a great-grandchild and son-in-law, Mark Sommer.
