MITCHELL - Martha Keller, 89, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Mitchell Care Center.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3 at Jolliffe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mitchell Care Center. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.jolliffefuneralhome.com.
Martha (Meier) Keller was born on Oct. 10, 1923 to Jacob and Mollie (Temple) Meier. She attended various schools in the valley and worked at Woolworth and J.C. Penney stores. Martha was married to Robert Keller on Nov. 23, 1947 at St. James Lutheran Church. They farmed in the community for many years. Martha worked at Lichter Duo Rest, Green Stamp store as assistant manager and later at Trim Line Draperies. She was a talented seamstress and loved to do all types of crafts. On retiring in 1980, Robert and Martha moved their home from Minatare to Scottsbluff. Martha lived in Scottsbluff until she moved to Mitchell Care Center in 2010.
Survivors include her daughter, Janadeen Keller of Salmon, ID; sons, Von (Debbie) Keller of Mitchell and Vern (Kathy) Keller of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Shaun Kechter, Tammy (Chuck) Overacker, Scott Keller, Brett Keller, Brittni Keller, Trent Keller and Nikki Keller; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Rachel Stricker; sister-in-law, Verna Meier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert; grandson, Mike Kechter; great-grandson, Todd Overacker; sister, Lea Burkheim; and brothers, Harry and Kenneth Meier.
