A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Mitchell with Father Thomas Gudipalli as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Mitchell Valley Cemetery. The United States Army National Guard will provide military Honors.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Jones Mortuary in Mitchell.
A Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at St. Theresa Catholic Church.

David was born May 17, 1952 to Jesse E. and Mary J. (Martin) Cardona in Chadron. On Aug. 31, 1970 David married Deloris Salazar in Scottsbluff. He served in the United States Army from Nov. 10, 1971 to Nov. 3, 1973. He received his training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. David was in the Alpha Company 3rd battalion 6th infantry. David received the following awards: National Defense Service Medal, Marksman, First class M7, 98.81.millimeter and M113 apc drivers certificate.
David ran a family owned business with his son, Klinton Cardona called Double Eagle Construction for 25 years. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing, hunting, music, playing his guitar, and was an avid Nebraska football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris; children, Klinton Cardona, Toni Cardona, Kelly Cardona, Marlena Cardona; father, Jesse E. Cardona; grandchildren, Damian San Miguel, Aaron De Los Santos, Mary San Miguel, Francisco Robles; brothers, Joseph Fernandis, Patrick Cardona, Eli Cardona, Robert Cardona; and sisters, Christina (Cardona) Lovato, Linda (Cardona) Serda, Cathy (Cardona) Arellano.
His mother Mary J. Cardona preceded him in death.
