Talbot 'Talby' Anthony Schroeder Sr. Old Bridge husband and father, hunter and Sportsmen's Club trustee, favored Harleys and German Shepherds as pets, 75 Talbot "Talby" Anthony Schroeder Sr., 75, of Old Bridge, N.J., died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015. Visitation will take place Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Hwy 9, Old Bridge, N.J. 08857, with a funeral prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Cremation services will be private. Raised in Newark, N.J., Talby had lived in Hillside, N.J., for 21 years before moving to Old Bridge 15 years ago. He was a supervisor with Blackstone Lumber in South Brunswick, N.J., where he retired in 2002. Talby was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Korea. He was a proud member and trustee for 20 years at the Outdoorsman Sportsmen's Club, where he enjoyed hunting. He also loved fishing, playing cards, Harleys, and proudly owned many German Shepherds throughout his life. Talby was predeceased by his parents, Talbot and Margaret (Villanella) Schroeder; his brother, Robert (Butch) Schroeder, and his sister, Ann Hale. Surviving are his wife, Noreen (Waters) Schroeder; his children, Talby Jr. and wife Cindy Schroeder, and Vincent Schroeder; his brother, Gary Schroeder; his sisters, Patricia Collura, Lenora Cicalese, and Barbara Whitaker, and his cherished grandchildren, Emily, Gavin, Riley and Brody. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Talbot's name to a charity of your choice.
