CLAIRE TOFT Obituary

Claire L. Toft Mass is on Saturday Claire L. Toft, 86, of Berkeley Heights, N.J., formerly of Lawrence Township, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at Overlook Medical Center. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, Oct 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct 15 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Little Flower, 310 Plainfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. Interment will be private. Claire was born in Trenton, N.J., to Mary Elizabeth "Bessie" and William T. Lee. She was a longtime resident of Lawrence Twp. and recently moved to Berkeley Heights. Claire achieved an associate's degree from Rider University in business and was employed as a bookkeeper at the Lawrence Twp. board of education until her retirement. She was a member of the Secular Franciscan, Church of the Little Flower choir, and the Lawrence Twp. Shade Tree Commission. Claire was also a Girl Scout leader, a court-appointed special advocate for at-risk children in Mercer County, and a municipal court mediator. She is survived by her loving children, C. Elizabeth Sheehy (Thomas) and Dennis Toft (Maria C.), and her cherished grandchildren, Michael Sheehy, Claire Sheehy, William Toft (Chelsea), Richard Toft, Elizabeth Toft, Dennis Toft Jr., and Margaret Toft. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews. Claire was predeceased by her husband, Richard Toft and her brother, Charles Lee. In lieu of flowers donations in Claire's memory to the Church of the Little Flower, 110 Roosevelt Ave., Berkeley Heights, N.J. 07922 or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
