Anthony Covello

Anthony Covello, 80, formerly of Bloomfield, N.J., and Montclair, N.J., passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013. A Funeral Mass wil be held on Monday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montclair. Interment is at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair, N.J. Visiting will be on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St., Montclair, caggianomemorial.com. Anthony was born and raised in Montclair, moved to Bloomfield, where he raised his family, and retired to Vero Beach, Fla. He worked for the Township of Montclair water bureau for many years before retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Anthony is survived by his children, Michael Covello (Gina), Stephen Covello, and Christy Vendola (Sam); his grandchildren, Marissa, Sammy, A.J., and Francesca; his former wife, Patricia (nee Kelly); a brother, Nunzio Covello; a sister, Anna Pace, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (nee Tampa) in 2009, and his brothers, Sam and Carmen Covello. Donations, in lieu of flowers, will be accepted at the funeral home.
