Flausira De Matos Rodrigues, 94, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, in St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Cedar Grove, N.J., where she resided for the past seven years. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Newark, N.J. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Newark. Visitation will be held on Monday Dec. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buyus Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette St., at Wilson Ave., Newark, www.buyusfuneralhome.com. Born in Murtosa, Portugal, Flausira came to the United States at the age of 17 and resided in the Ironbound section of Newark until moving to Cedar Grove. Flausira was a seamstress for Steinberg's in Newark for 20 years. She was the wife of the late Manuel Rodrigues Sr. and mother of the late Manny Rodrigues; mother-in-law of Dolores Rodrigues; devoted and loving sister of Palmira Santos, and the late Felicidade Matos Valente; cherished grandmother of Manny and Mark Rodrigues; dear aunt of Eugenio and Antonio Santos and their families, and Manuel Matos Valente and family.
