Kevin B. McCarthy died at home in Montclair, N.J., on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013. The family will be receiving friends at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, N.J., on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. Kevin was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Maplewood and Bloomfield, N.J., before moving to Montclair 10 years ago. He graduated from Seton Hall Prep and attended Seton Hall University. He was the son of Catherine McEvoy McCarthy and the late William R. McCarthy; father of Heather, Sean and Thomas McCarthy; brother of Karen McNanna and her husband, Richard; Kelly Gibson and her husband, John, and Kim Tompson and her husband, Robert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army (donate.salvationarmyusa.org) or Market Street Mission, 9 Market St., Morristown, N.J. 07960 would be appreciated.
