Louise L. Vasiliow

Louise L. Vasiliow, 94, of West Caldwell, N.J., died on Thursday, March 28, 2013, with her niece, Kay, by her bedside. Visiting is on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland 07068, www.farmerfuneral.com. The funeral is at 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Louise was born in Washington, D.C., raised in Maplewood, N.J., and resided in Caldwell for 40 years. At a young age she worked in the well-known family businesses owned by her Uncle Van, Proctor's Luncheonette, in the lobby of the Proctor's Palace Theater in downtown Newark, N.J., and the Cricklewood Luncheonette on South Orange Avenue in South Orange, N.J. Later, Miss "V" worked for many years as a secretary for a private insurance company in Orange, N.J., and then in Maplewood, N.J. until her retirement. Louise was a lifelong member of Ss. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at its original location in Newark, where she taught Sunday School for many years. "Thitsa" Elley was the most fun aunt and will be remembered always and missed greatly by her close family for the joyful experiences and selfless open-hearted enrichment she brought into their lives. She was a devoted and loving sister to Mary Pantelis (John) and Pipina Valauri (Nicholas), who predeceased her. She lost a dear brother, Chris, at a very young age and was recently predeceased by her favorite nephew-in-law, Tim McCormack. She is survived by her devoted niece, Kay McCormack, and her great-niece and nephew, Melissa and Michael McCormack. She leaves behind a sister-in-law, Mary C. Vasiliow and her children, Elise, Louise, Christine, and their families. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Ss.
