Marion Korn

Marion Korn (nee Lanning), 85, of West Caldwell, N.J., departed Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at her home. Visiting hours will be held at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Tpke., Little Falls, N.J., on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m., immediately followed by a memorial service. Interment is Wednesday at 11 a.m. at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, N.J. Visit gaitamemorialhome.com. Born in Glen Ridge, N.J., Marion was raised in Belleville, N.J., before moving to her home of 46 years in West Caldwell, N.J. She was an elementary school teacher in Belleville, and later became a substitute teacher at James Caldwell High School. Marion taught for 25 years and was well-remembered for many more. Marion was a special woman and will always be remembered for her enchanting smile. She cherished her family, Pomeranians, and cat, Frankie. Marion was the beloved mother of her son, Steven and his wife, Pearl; her daughter, Ellen, and her son, David. She was the loving grandmother of Lauren Vargas and her husband, Jeff, and Michelle Korn. Marion is also survived by her lifelong friends, her sisters, Barbara Quinn, and Ginny Speyer, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
